The table above has been created using the information available with the proposed certified agreement and the remuneration point for that role in the Ambulance Services Employees Award - State 2016. At face value it appears that ACP 1s should be remunerated at the same level as ACP 2 Pay Point 1. Advanced Care Paramedic 2 Extended Role (LARU)

Above are table representations of pay Point progression rates with compounded pay rise percentages over the two year life of the agreement for Paramedics (Charlie, ACP1, ACP2 and LARU).   Paramedics will enter the new "Level, Band Increment" structure of new pay rates dependant on there substantive position in the QAS as of implementation date.  Pay 'increment' progression then occurs with years of service, maintenance of skill sets and mandatory continuing training requirements. To allow easy recognition of the time lines and new pay points a colour coding has been added to the tables below. This will help each Officer understand their pay position at the yearly milestones in 2018 and 2019. The colour coded % figure displayed is the compounded pay increase over that time frame for the "Officer" calculated by ([Sept 2019 wage] - [Current Wage])/[Current wage].

Roles/Classification levels requiring further review in line with clause 15 are:  

(a) Indigenous Cadets

(b) Ambulance Attendant

(c) Certificate IV Qualified

(d) Paramedic Students

(e) ACP1 classified as Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP)

(f) Project roles                Proposed Enterprise Agreement page 38

And

15.2 Some employees may require a review of their specific role as outlined in Schedule 3, against the new Generic Level Statements to ascertain the correct classification level, band and increment to be translated to. This review process will be undertaken by the QAS Classification Committee and approved by the relevant Deputy Commissioner that the role reports to. 

15.3 This Committee will ensure that all roles identified as requiring review are assessed and the relevant employees are advised of their translation outcome prior to 31 December 2017. The effective date of the payment to this new structure for this group will remain 1 September 2017        Proposed Enterprise Agreement page 6

And the Ambulance Service Employees Award - State 2106 [Page 44] states:

(c) A Paramedic - Advanced Skills must possess at least an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance) and relevant advanced skills or recognised equivalent (as determined by the QAS Commissioner) at the Paramedic P2 skill level.  

(d) An Advanced or Intensive Care Paramedic may request to revert to a Paramedic - Advanced Skills pay point 2 which is at the remuneration level equivalent to an Advanced Care Paramedic pay point 1.  Employees at Paramedic - Advanced Skills pay point 1 are not able to increment to Paramedic - Advanced Skills pay point 2.
